Senator Harkin asks Iowans to "Take a Chance"

Take a chance on me?

Senator Harkin echoing ABBA is asking Iowans to take a chance by electing Democrats.

DES MOINES – In Marshalltown Senator Tom Harkin (D-IA) was quoted as stating, “People want to give Democrats a chance.”

“Obviously if Senator Harkin spent more time in the state he would have realized that Democrats have been in control for the last two years in Iowa. Now he is asking Iowans to take another chance by electing more Democrats,” said Senate Minority Leader Ron Wieck (R-Sioux City).

“If it was up to the Senate Democrats, teachers, like Professor Arthur Miller at the University of Iowa, would still be teaching and hitting on students.”

Editor's Note:  Harkin's residency status in the state of Iowa should be challenged.  Tom doesn't really spend any time in the state except to hold some meetings and press conferences.  And while Tom and his wife Ruth are listed on the deed for a family property in Cumming, Iowa, they do not live there at any time of the year.  It's not as nice as a Marriott, and the Harkin's hold that property only so that Tom can claim residency.

Harkin_house_2The deed holder for the property where Tom grew up in Cumming, Iowa is listed as Harkin, Thomas R/Ruth, 1900 Ancilla CT, Alexandria, VA 22307.  Tom Harkin has not been a true resident of the state of Iowa for decades now and he has lost touch with Iowans as a result.
