DES MOINES, IA. -- American Future Fund (AFF) is running an updated version of its “Walk the Plank” print ad. The ad is another addition to a series of print and radio ads highlighting so-called Blue Dog Democrats, and encourages them to not walk the plank and vote for government-run healthcare at Nancy Pelosi’s behest. An updated version of the ad will run in The Politico highlighting Harry Reid’s statement that the Senate will not vote on health care until 2010, while House Democrats are asked to vote in lock-step with their liberal leaders to pass government-run healthcare.
“Blue Dog Democrats should heed this warning to not walk Nancy Pelosi’s plank towards government-run health care. A clear majority of Americans do not support this legislation and neither should they,” said AFF President Sandy Greiner. “If they chose to “Walk the Plank” and support Nancy Pelosi, the only thing they have to lose is their job and their majorities. America won’t stand for bigger government, higher taxes and more regulation.”
The text for the ad is as follows: Blue Dog Sucker Update: While you walk the plank, Harry Reid says Senate won't vote until 2010. Keep walking the plank, house members! It’s like a bad pirate movie. Blue Dogs and moderates sticking their necks out to support Nancy Pelosi’s agenda of big government, higher taxes, and more regulation. They cast liberal votes that could risk their careers, while the bills they support go nowhere in the Senate. It’s already happened with cap-and-trade. And government-run health care is next. House member cast bad votes, while the Senate dithers and leaves them hanging. Keep it Up, Liberals. You Have Nothing to Lose But Your Majorities!
