So Congressman Barney Frank (liberal - MA.) was sitting on the porch of his partner’s Maine home in August of 2007 when police came to arrest his partner, James Ready, for marijuana possession.
Frank claimed he was unaware Ready had marijuana plants.
Right.......
According to the police report, Maine police arrested and charged Ready with marijuana possession, cultivation and use of drug paraphernalia. He pleaded guilty to civil possession and paid a fine. The remaining charges were dismissed last year.
Frank was not charged.
It should be noted that Frank is the author of a medical marijuana bill that would outlaw the prosecution of persons who use marijuana for medicinal purposes.
Playing 'dumb' seems to work for Frank.
Another former lover of Frank's, Steve Gobie, was running a brothel out of Frank's apartment in 1988/1989. For 18 months Steve Gobie, a.k.a. the 'Male Madam' operated a prostitution service out of Frank's Capitol Hill apartment.
Frank's excuse? He didn't know...
Right.
Did Congress censure or reprimand Frank in any way? Nope. They believed that Frank was 'unaware' that his lover was running a brothel out his apartment for 18 months.
In 2003, while the ranking Democrat on the Financial Services Committee, Frank opposed greater oversight of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.
"These two entities...are not facing any kind of financial crisis.... The more people exaggerate these problems, the more pressure there is on these companies, the less we will see in terms of affordable housing," Frank stated.
Again faced with calls for more oversight in 2008, Frank made similar statements that Fannie and Freddie were not in crisis.
Was he lying, or playing dumb? ....... Again.
Another one of Frank's former romantic partners, Herb Moses, was an executive at Fannie from 1991 to 1998, where Moses helped develop many of Fannie’s housing and home improvement lending programs. In 1991, Frank pushed for reduced restrictions on two- and three-family home mortgages. During the time that Frank was in a relationship with Moses, he blocked tougher regulations on the banking companies and voted for more lenient lending practices - yes, authorizing higher risk loans.
Do you see a pattern here?
Barney Frank is a lying, manipulative, cheating piece of garbage. He is a disgrace and an embarassment to Congress. But liberals keep voting him in. Are you OK with that?
