Labor Department figures released today show initial jobless applications increased to 480,000 in the week ended Jan. 30, the most in seven weeks. That number is up from 472,000 the prior week, with the number of people receiving extended benefits also increasing.
Editor's Note: Obama's first stimulus package hasn't delivered as promised (Obama said the unemployment rate wouldn't go above 8% if his stimulus bill got passed). And did you know that only 1/3 of the money from that bill has been spent? Why? Because liberals are holding on to the money for spending later this year in preparation for a boost in the 2010 elections that's why. Obama urged for the passage of his stimulus bill back in March, it was, "We have to pass this now!" mantra. Now we learn that 2/3'rds of that money hasn't even been spent yet. Liars and thieves. And heck, Obama & company think you're so stupid, they're proposing ANOTHER stimulus bill! If you've got so much money remaining from your first bill Obama, why on EARTH do you need a second stimulus bill? Hmmmmmm?
