Rod Sullivan is a Johnson County Supervisor, he's also a big time liberal and local Democrat activist, a believer in BIG government, intrusive government being the know-all, cure-all for all ills.... That despite better answers and solutions elsewhere.....
Check out the latest from his blog Sullivan's Salvos, here we are approaching Independence Day and this supposed leader can't even be up front and honest with people about our Founding Fathers. The misinformation (intentionally done?) he wrote is SO wrong, he's either inept, or the guy is just an ignorant boob..... And he's a county supervisor spending your money! Hmmmmmm......
From his blog: "The founders were all male and white, and those who were gay were quiet about it. The folks who founded the US were overwhelmingly wealthy landowners, most of whom also owned slaves. They were willing to go to war over taxes. They were not too interested in upsetting that status quo."
No Sullivan, the founders weren't all male and white, and why did you throw the gay thing in there? It's completely irrelevant, and as IF you know. They weren't overwhelmingly wealthy landowners and they didn't go to war simply over taxes. And yes, they were indeed interested in upsetting the status quo that wanted to remain aligned with England - that's obvious to anyone with an ounce of common sense.
Does Sullivan think people are stupid?
Sullivan is guilty of blatant if not ignorant misinformation! He has a public venue in his blog, and he's writing complete crap! This is a county supervisor we're talking about folks. He's either that inept in conveying information to you, or he's lying and this is not at all a unique or isolated incident.
Founding Father Samuel Adams was a poor man. He owned just one suit, the red one you see in portraits of him.
We had some black Founding Fathers, that's right, black Founding Fathers and that's been erased from the history books in our schools.
Founding Father Benjamin Franklin, later freed his slaves and was a key founder of the Pennsylvania Anti-Slavery Society. Funny how Sullivan failed to mention that huh?
Founding Father Alexander Hamilton was opposed to slavery.
Founding Father John Jay (Don't hear much about him huh? Why IS that?) also opposed slavery and helped to found the first African free school of New York City and the New York Manumission Society. As the Governor of New York, he signed into law the statute ending slavery in that state.
Of the 55 delegates to the 1787 Federal Convention (the framing of our Constitution), 12 owned or managed slaves. That's not even CLOSE to Sullivan's falsely claimed majority.
Did you know the women of New Jersey held the right to vote from 1776 - 1807? Sullivan obviously doesn't.
Rod Sullivan - Inept? Ignorant? A liar?
A few of the 1787 Federal Convention delegates were wealthy, but many of the country's top wealth-holders were Loyalists who ended up going back to Britain.
So Sullivan is just flat out wrong with his claims.... It's obvious he didn't do any homework (perhaps didn't care to?) and his misinformation is a serious disservice to the public.
This guy makes decisions on your behalf and spends your money. If he can't be honest about our history on Independence Day, how can we trust him on the issues of the day?
Remember, this is a guy who responded to a constituent with, "F*&^ You" and threatened another with physical violence.
What a *leader* huh?

Johnson County is run by a criminal gang of criminal perverts, and has been for years. So, what else is new? What's new is that Bozo Boy is a little more openly out of the closet than usual. At least he can keep company with Bolkcom, Correia, Kubby, Rettig, etc. etc. ad nauseating nauseam as they hatch more and more tax scams with their little racket. After all, that's why the University of Zero Nobel Prizes is in Iowa City. It's there to launder tax money so it can be shovelled away to lying homo rackets, and act as a seedbed for the Hillarys and Obamas of the world. As long as the suckers of Iowa don't realize how they're being manipulated, they'll continue to be milked dry and set up for the next con. Or the next Eric Shaw-Lu Gang-Steve Sueppel bloodbath and cover-up.

Obviously someone should give Sullivan a copy of the Wood book I cited - Revolutionary Characters. Maybe I'll loan him mine.
