It's good to eat a cupcake every now and then, and the Iowa Hawkeyes did just that today with a dominating 45-0 win over the Ball State Cardinals.
Starting out a bit slow on offense, the Hawkeyes started clicking in the second quarter and overwhelmed Ball State the rest of the game by racking up 562 yards of total offense.
Quarterback Ricky Stanzi was 19 of 25 for 288 yards, 3 touchdowns an no interceptions. Runningback Adam Robinson had 22 carries for 115 and 2 touchdowns and added another 75 yards in receiving.
The Iowa defense was stellar. They flat out shut down the Cardinals in holding them to just 8 first downs and only 112 yards of total offense. A shut out - no matter the opponent - is impressive, period.
Call it a tune-up game, it's just what the Hawkeyes needed going into the Big-10 schedule next week against Penn State.

I had a dream that Iowa went to the Rose Bowl.
