Iowa Rep. Paulsen: Issues statement on Regents appointments

DES MOINES, IA. -- House Speaker Kraig Paulsen (R-Hiawatha) issued the following statement on the appointment of three additions to the Board of Regents:

“I applaud Governor Branstad on his recent appointments to the Board of Regents.

“Bruce Rastetter’s background in business and agriculture will serve the Regents institutions extremely well. He also brings a commitment to quality education and balances that with his care for Iowa taxpayers.

“I have had the opportunity to work directly with Linn-Mar Superintendent Katie Mulholland and I know she brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the board. She’s shown great dedication to educating Iowa’s children. I’m confident she will continue to serve students, parents and families well in this new capacity.

“Nicole Carroll’s experience and diverse background will bring an additional valuable perspective to the Board of Regents.”
