The latest Labor Department figures released today show that the number of applications for jobless benefits continues to indicate all is not well with the economy.
The level of claims hit 428,000 for the week ended June 25.
That number keeps first-time claims above the 400,000 mark for the 12th week in a row. According to most experts, the economy can’t grow when claims remain above that mark.
