The groundbreaking ceremony for the first Iowa Valley Habitat for Humanity home in Solon will take place at 6 pm on Tuesday, May 1st at 413 South Dubuque. This will be a chance to meet the family, take some pictures, and celebrate the start of another build.
The Kurt and Victoria Shover family will move into the Solon house in late July or early August. Kurt, Victoria, and their son Chance are excited for construction to begin on their new home!
A block party will be held to kickoff the build itself on Saturday, June 2nd from 1-7pm with food and entertainment while volunteers build the walls for the house. General construction on the site will begin the following week; morning and afternoon volunteer shifts will be available on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. To sign up for a volunteer shift, visit www.iowavalleyhabitat.org.
