Four pit bulls attacked the bumper of a minivan on Monday morning and did quite a bit of damage, including flattening a tire. According to their owner–who is also the owner of the car–they were trying to get at a kitten that had gotten herself stuck up underneath the car’s front bumper.
Luckily for the kitten, she was wedged up in a safe spot and survived the attack without a scratch, although the vehicle didn’t fare quite so well. The owner, upon seeing the damage that morning, changed the tire and made his way to work, a 25-mile drive. When he arrived and got out of the car, he heard meowing coming from beneath the car and called authorities to help him retrieve the animal.

All Pit Bulls should be distroyed after birth. The adult ones should be distroyed as well.

@Pjzeiler With a comment like that, you should have been destroyed at conception! Pit Bulls are no more dangerous then a Rottweiler or a German Shepherd. Because "Pit Bulls" are mixed breeds their temperament are unknown. However with proper training they can be as gentle as Yorkie. Get your facts straight before posting and ignorant comment.

I USED TO BABYSIT FOR A FAMILY WHO HAD A YORKIE THAT HAD TO BE LOCKED IN A CLOSET BECAUSE HE TERORIZED ME. I NOW HAVE TWO PITBULLS, BOTH STRAYS.I ALSO WAS A PERSON WHO WAS WARY OF THE BREED. ALAS MY EXPERIENCE WITH THEM HAS BEEN NOTHING BUT WONDERFUL. I KNOW NOTHING OF THERE PAST BUT THEY ARE THE MOST LOVING, AFFECTIONATE DOGS I HAVE EVER HAD. ANYTIME YOU HAVE A PACK OF DOGS LOOSE AND ON THE RUN THEY CAN DEVELOP A "PACK MENTALITY" AND ARE CAPABLE OF HARM AND DANGER. SO DO NOT BE SO QUICK TO KILL PITBULLS. WE HEAR ABOUT PITBULLS ATTACKING BUT MANY OTHER BREEDS ARE CAPABLE OF ATTACKING AND DO, HOWEVER PITBULLS CAN DO A LOT OF DAMAGE AS THEY ARE EXTEMEMLY STRONG AND WERE BRED TO TAKE DOWN LARGE ANIMALS. AS WITH HUMANS ANIMALS SHOULD BE TAKEN ON AN INDIVIDUAL BASIS. DON'T JUDGE.

Pit bulls were bred to be hunting dogs, so they hunt. If they are properly trained they only track what you tell them to. They weren't bred specifically for fighting each other, but for tracking wild boar, which required great strength, stamina, and a "never-give-up" attitude, which unfortunately also means that, if they are made vicious by abuse or insane or unstable due to inbreeding, their attacks have more severe consequences. I have met more vicious Chihuahuas than pit bulls, but you can just punt a small dog aside, so no one is calling for THEIR destruction.
