The number of first time unemployment claims went on the rise last week, putting a souring economic picture on display.
The Labor Department released its latest report this morning showing 366,000 people filing first time claims for unemployment benefits for the week ending August 11. That's up 2,000 from the previous week.
Last month, the economy created just 163,000 new jobs and the unemployment rate rose to 8.3%.
