IOWA CITY, IA. -- Iowa fans found a new walk-on hero to praise in fullback Mark Wiseman, who propelled Iowa to victory over the University of Northern Iowa Panthers at Kinnick Stadium.
Wiseman, a sophomore, rushed for 113 yards and three touchdowns in relief of Damon Bullock and Greg Garmon, both leaving the game due to injury.
Quarterback James Vandenberg also turned in a good performance, throwing for 228 yards with no interceptions. Receiver Kevante Martin-Manley had five catches for 101 yards.
It was good to see Iowa's offense starting to click for the first time this season. The Hawks are now 2-1 and face the Central Michigan Chippewas (1-1) next week in Iowa City.
