MSNBC's Lawrence O'Donnell is either inept or just a flat out liar. Ok, both.
I'm watching his show tonight and in his first segment he's on a rant about how Mitt Romney was making a stump speech talking about Obama pushing a federal tax rate of 40%, then when you add in a state tax rate, city taxes, sales taxes... before you know it a person is possibly coughing up 100% of their income in taxes.
O'Donnell calls Mitt Romney's suggestion crazy, so do his all liberal panel of guests..... SHOCKER!
O'Donnell is animated (paraphrasing), Mitt Romney is out of his mind, that sick and stupid man can't possibly believe that people would be asked to do that!
Does O'Donnell know (I contend he most likely does, but he isn't about to reveal it to his audience) that the top marginal income tax rate in 1952 and 1953 was 92%? That's just the federal rate, that doesn't include a state income tax rate, county, city, or sales taxes. O'Donnell isn't a young guy, surely he knows that the top marginal income tax rate during the Carter years was 70 percent?
Given the fiscally irresponsible direction this country is headed in under liberal *leadership*, how is the government at the various levels and with various taxes adding up to 100% NOT plausible?
Lawrence O'Donnell, an idiot liar.
