Big Bird makes big bucks, helping to generate more than $211 million from toy and consumer product sales from 2003 to 2006. Tax forms covering 2008, show the Sesame Workshop generated $126 million in revenues.
As a member of the 1%, Big Bird doesn't need government subsidies.
