Immediately after the debate ended I flipped over to MSNBC for some post-debate analysis. Boy was I pleasantly pleased by the frustration and angst I witnessed!
The MSNBC panel consisted of Rachel Maddow (liberal), Ed Shultz (liberal), Al Sharpton (liberal), Chris Hayes (liberal) and former John McCain advisor and GOP token Steve Schmidt (RINO).
Ed Shultz was visibly upset with Obama's performance as was Al Sharpton. Both men expressed hands up in the air frustration with the President's lackluster performance. Rachel Maddow seemed stunned by the outcome, Chris Hayes was apologetic and the only indication of balanced post-debate analysis came from Steve Schmidt. Even admitted socialist and Obama is the Messiah Lawrence O'Donnell, who was on the debate floor conducting interviews, found himself asking Democrat talking heads what the President will have to fix in order to score a win in the second debate.
The one-and-a-half hour debate covered the economy, jobs, federal budget, tax cuts, education and health care. To paraphrase political pundit Pat Buchanan, if this was a boxing match, Romney won 13 out of 15 rounds.
If you ask me, Obama didn't take his debate prep in Vegas seriously. It cost him. Seriously, what was he thinking goofing off like he did in Vegas? That location was a bad decision to begin with..... Romney is a practiced debater, Obama hasn't done it for quite awhile. Romney's executive skills showed tonight, Obama's lack of them was apparent. In short, Romney looked more presidential than the President!
Here's what I see in considering the next two debates: Romney's work ethic is superior to Obama's. Romney takes the task at hand much more seriously than Obama does and it showed tonight. The debate prep is evidence. The executive outworked the community organizer.
