Council urges state leaders to back rail | Iowa City Press Citizen

Coralville Courier Editor's Note:  Government-run passenger rail isn't a critical need, heck, it's not even a VALID need!  And note the sloppy, void of substance reporting  by the Iowa City DePressed Citizen.  There are no details on construction costs, operational costs, administration costs etc.  This is a blatant puff piece trying to generate support for a bad idea.  As in, "Gosh, if all these leaders want it, then it MUST be a good idea!"   Oh, and Dave Jacoby thinks you're stupid if you don't support it......

Iowa City Manager Tom Markus said Friday that 2013 must be the year passenger rail comes to the state.

“This is our last year of opportunity for this,” he told state lawmakers from Johnson County. “This is absolutely critical that we decide what we’re going to do and we engender your support.”
