Who needs passenger rail? Unions

The people of Iowa don't need passenger rail, we already get to and from where we need to be for work and play without it.  It's not a true need for hard working Iowans.  So who is the non-critical need government-run passenger rail really being proposed for?  Unions.  The Amtrak people are members of a union.  Adding unnecessary passenger rail in Iowa grows the union.  This isn't about valid transportation needs, this is about growing the union.  ~ Mike Thayer
