Show me a gun control measure that actually does what its proponents said it would do. Chicago's strict gun control measures don't work, they've got some of the highest gun violence rates in the country. Washington D.C.'s strict gun control measures haven't worked. Gun free zones don't work either, all they do is make such zones an easier and more attractive target to crazy people. What State Senator Joe Bolkcom (liberal-Iowa City) is proposing for gun control punishes law abiding citizens and does NOTHING in terms of preventing a nonsensical shooting at school, a mall, perhaps a church. Why propose a bill, that doesn't fix anything?
