Microsoft could soon offer a subsidized Xbox 360 for $99 along with a two-year contract for Xbox Live Gold in an attempt to popularize the Xbox as the main digital hub in living rooms across the U.S., according to an online report. As early as next week, Microsoft may start offering a 4GB Xbox 360 with Kinect sensor plus a two-year commitment to pay $15 per month for Xbox Live Gold, giving you access to the console's online services.
The new deal is expected to be offered at Microsoft’s retail stores, and the Xbox Live Gold subscription may include additional streaming content currently unavailable to Xbox Live Gold members, according to The Verge. It's unclear whether Microsoft would also offer the supposed subscription deal online or through other retailers such as Best Buy or Amazon.

The Coralville Courier welcomes donations from our readers. Your contribution helps us take on the issues of the day, put a spotlight on bad government and other liberal/progressive-minded nonsense. Because we reserve the right to speak our minds as we see fit, we do not qualify for tax exempt nonprofit organization status. We made the decision early on that expousing conservative values is much more important than any tax benefit might seem to be. Regrettably, your donation to the Coralville Courier will not be tax deductible.
Help us fight liberalism in eastern Iowa!

Modern Warfare 3 is for the most part impressive. It builds on the previous games, offering a fast paced, action packed, fun time with an intense storyline. The graphics haven't improved much from the Black Ops version of the game, but they're still notable and provide a high-quality visual experience. The sound effects are better, more realistic and heavy with impact. A nice edition to the Call Of Duty lineup, it's entertaining and addictive. I give it 4 out of 5 stars. Rated 'M' for Mature.

DES MOINES, IA. -- Attorney General Tom Miller cautioned Sony PlayStation account users to take precautions to protect themselves from identity theft, in the wake of the company’s disclosure of a massive personal data breach.
On Tuesday Sony confirmed through a statement that “between April 17 and April 19, 2011, certain PlayStation Network and Qriocity service user account information was compromised in connection with an illegal and unauthorized intrusion into our network.” The breach could affect 77 million account holders worldwide, according to media reports. “While there is no evidence at this time that credit card data was taken, we cannot rule out the possibility,” the company’s statement added.
Miller advised any consumer who provided credit card data through PlayStation Network or Qriocity to assume their credit card information may have been compromised. “Consumers in this situation should watch their credit card activity very carefully,” Miller said. “Hackers infiltrated Sony’s huge online network and stole large volumes of names, addresses, birth dates, user names, passwords, and possibly credit card information.”
Miller also advised consumers of the potential for e-mail, telephone and mail scams. Criminals who may or may not be connected with the breach may contact consumers and attempt to elicit additional personal information. Sony stated that the company will not contact consumers by e-mail seeking or confirming personal information.
Miller offers identity theft prevention tips through a Consumer Advisory posted on the Attorney General’s website: http://www.iowaattorneygeneral.gov. Consumers can also call the Consumer Protection Division at 515-281-5926. Outside of the Des Moines area, call toll free at 1-888-777-4590.
The Federal Trade Commission also offers tips on preventing and responding to identity theft: http://www.ftc.gov/idtheft.
